In 1996, Essential Theatre Company emerged from the chrysalis of the Sternberg Players to become an independent community theatre company based in North London, committed to producing theatre of a high standard for the local community. We have staged productions at a variety of venues in and around North London e.g. the Bull Theatre, Barnet, the Mayfair Theatre, London W1, the Millfield Theatre, Edmonton, and most recently at the Arts Depot, the new state-of-the-art theatre complex in N. Finchley. We have also taken three successful productions to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 1997, 1999 and 2002, all of which earned 4-star reviews. (see Past Productions) Although smaller than many community theatre companies, without an inexhaustible supply of people to call on for support, invariably short on funds and, unfortunately, no home of our own, we more than make up for these shortcomings with our passion for theatre, our professional approach and the total dedication of our members. Having
reached its 11th Anniversary in 2007, ETC remains committed to continue
providing quality theatre for the local community, using talent from both
within and outside the community, and as we go forward we hope to have
your continued support either as active members (see Become a Member)
or, just as importantly, “bums on seats”. |
